USCIS May Soon Launch Organizational Accounts

USCIS May Soon Launch Organizational Accounts

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced measures to simplify the H-1B registration process. One of these measures includes the launch of organizational accounts, and another is the online filing for Petitions for a Nonimmigrant Worker (Form I-129s).

The USCIS created organizational accounts for non-cap filings and those for the 2025 fiscal year’s H-1B cap season. These accounts will allow several individuals from the same organization to work together on preparing H-1B registrations. These registrations include the Request for Premium Processing (Form I-907) and Form I-129.

The USCIS Director, Ur M. Jaddou, stated, “USCIS is always striving to improve and streamline our processes, and this is a big step forward.” Director Jaddou also discussed the measures. Director Jaddou explained, “Once we launch the organizational accounts and online filing of I-129 H-1B petitions, the entire H-1B lifecycle becomes fully electronic — from registration, if applicable, to our final decision and transmission to the Department of State.”

The USCIS expects the new accounts to launch in February 2024. They also intend to introduce the ability to file Forms I-129 and I-907 online soon after. Beyond streamlining these filings, the coming changes should also reduce duplicate H-1B registrations and other common errors. Another change will move the location for paper filing for Forms I-129 and I-907 to the USCIS lockbox from its current location in the service centers.

The USCIS will host two national events to answer questions about the organizational accounts and how to complete the process. According to the announcement, they will also hold smaller sessions as the H-1B registration period approaches. According to the USCIS, the national engagements will occur on January 23 and 24

Individuals who attend these sessions may ask questions about organizational accounts for the upcoming H-1B electronic registration process. The USCIS will also answer questions on the change to online filing for Form I-129 H-1B petitions. The changes are an attempt by the Biden Administration to make the H-1B system more effective without changing the current annual visa cap of 60,000.

Employers who hire H-1B workers must complete the employment eligibility verification (Form I-9) process and reverify it as required. However, filling out this form has proven complicated, and mistakes can be costly. The best way to correctly and consistently complete Form I-9 is to invest in an electronic I-9 management system. This system guides employers through the process and safely and securely stores the forms and documentation.

Streamline your hiring process with an automated employment eligibility verification and ensure compliance today with I-9Compliance.
